Scripture

“For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe.” Deuteronomy 10:17 (ESV)

Observation

When we think of a righteous God, that is sovereign, and judges the earth and His creation as a the one and only God, we must think of God who doesn’t judge with partiality. Todays text shows this to be the case and was revealed to Moses thousands of years past. God had to reveal Himself to be partial to no one early so that Israelites would trust Him. God is a Sovereign Righteous God and He could not be a God of all righteousness if He did show partiality. So what does this mean to you?

Application

What this means to you is that God is absolutely trustworthy and will judge all matters with a scale that’s even. Trust is a huge issue with mankind. Everyone is on the constant search for someone they can trust. In marriage. In friendship. In all things. We can know God is trustworthy from faith in the Scriptures and our lives witness his righteousness in judgment.

Prayer

All Mighty and Righteous Father of Heaven and earth, we come to you this day knowing how righteously you have judged mankind and will judge mankind. We understand that faith in Jesus Christ will allow many of us to escape your final judgment, the Great White Throne Judgment, where all lost souls will be judged according to works. We understand that by faith we are saved because we tapped in to your unlimited grace the day we first believed. Now Father, we pray for our family that is lost, our father, mother, brother, sister, daughter or son and we pray for the lost in the country and in the world. May they come to know you in truth and recieve your Holy Spirit, which will raise us up bodily at a time you have set. In everything we pray as always in Jesus Holy name, Amen!
